For an end of year thank you gift to NPR sponsorship contacts, I designed custom cover art for a notebook produced in collaboration with Public Supply. I chose to hand-illustrate a collection of radios and other listening devices as a playful nod to NPR’s radio roots. I hope that the slightly quirky character of each drawing alludes to both the personal nature of the connection people have with NPR, and the different identities and personalities of the listeners behind each of those devices.

The following year, I adapted the design for small zippered totes. I simplified the line art to suit the new printing specs while retaining the hand-drawn character of the original.

Not only were both gifts a hit with clients, they were made available for anyone to purchase from the NPR Shop.
